Giuseppe Quaratiello is a Ph.D. Candidate at the Department of Agriculture, Food and Environment of the University of Pisa. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in “Agricultural Science and Technology” at the University of Foggia, and a Master’s Degree in “Plant and Microbial Biotechnologies” at the University of Pisa. Currently, he is working in the Plant Pathology group, under the supervision of Dr. Lorenzo Cotrozzi. His Ph.D. project addresses the development of sustainable approaches to diagnose both biotic and abiotic stress of plants by means of digital tools. Specifically, the project is focused on exploiting optical sensors-based technologies (both hyperspectral non-imaging and imaging) and machine learning algorithms to set analytical protocols relying on sorting or predictive models that can be applied within several environmental contexts (agricultural, forest and urban areas).
