Manola is enrolled in the PhD program Agricultural, Food and Environmental sciences at Pisa University. Her academic background includes a master’s degree in architecture from Sapienza University of Rome and a European postgraduate master’s degree in Urbanism and Strategic Planning from KU Leuven and TU Delft. Since 2015, she has been working as an architect in various roles and at different scales, including consultant, architect, and junior project manager. Her current research focuses on the role of mountain value chains in the sustainable development of marginalized areas. She is interested in the relations between rural, peri-urban and urban areas, the process of land de-commoning and the participatory approaches in the process of decision making.
